If you can’t get excited by what you do, why the hell should your audience? 🤷‍♀️

Si Ellis writes: “I once saw a keynote presentation by the engineering director of a brilliant new programme. I’d been following the company’s progress for months and was keen to hear from the team behind it. What followed was so dull and devoid of passion that, by the end, I was actually angry – looking around the room it was clear I wasn’t alone. In the face of an open goal – a room full of brand enthusiasts, this guy had managed to turn the audience off.”

The presenter may have been the perfect person to be leading the engineering – but he was the wrong person to be giving the keynote. He was brilliant for the business, but a poor choice to convey the brand.
