A gorgeous branding ecosystem and website helped to launch RUSE Group’s new restaurant in Bali.

What’s the deal?

The RUSE Restaurant Group was formed early in 2022 by the founding partners of the Quarterdeck Kitchen and Bar, located on Australia’s Gold Coast. Peachy is their first restaurant outside of Australia, situated on Bali’s Canggu.

EllisJames had already delivered Quarterdeck’s refreshed branding and new website in 2022, and moved almost immediately on to the ground-up branding of Peachy.

The Quarterdeck website was the first test-bed for a template that would be used for all RUSE restaurants, streamlining the development process, reducing costs overall, and delivering strong familiar consistency across the growing restaurant group.

So what?

The RUSE team has a really good sense of their own identity and the experience they want to instil in each of their restaurants. Each location will deliver the best of local food and drink, with a consistently RUSE quality of service and care.

Peachy is specifically targeted at expats and holidaymakers looking for a premium – yet relaxed and fun – dining experience. The branding is every-so-slightly cheeky with a distinctly retro feel. The warm peachy hues reflect the comfortable, super-cool decor of the restaurant.

Yeah, but, so what?

The challenge with Peachy – and in fact working with the RUSE group generally – is of course, timezones and location. The team live in Bali, and have a restaurant in Australia, but we’re still able to find convenient times we can all connect on a Teams call.

The team are also moving at pace – they’re full of energy and juggling multiple plates (literally) at any given time – so frequent, short catch-ups are the order of the day.

The result is a strong, welcoming brand, bursting with personality and delivering high levels of expectation.

Favourite element?

The word play and the deep dive into the Peachy personality, and working with the RUSE team. They love to laugh, but they also know quality when they see it.

Retro is fairly easy. Cheeky takes some finesse, but it’s not that hard. And to varying degrees, creating a premium brand can be comparatively straightforward. But combining them all? For a restaurant 7,850 miles away? The elegance of the outcome for Peachy belies the delicate balancing act the project demanded.

We’re very proud of the result. Now we’re saving up the airfare to get us out there.

The team’s attention to details and drive to go above and beyond has been wonderful

It has been an absolute honour working with EllisJames through rebranding and created our new website. The team’s attention to details and drive to go above and beyond has been wonderful. We can’t wait to start working on our next project with such an incredible team! Thank you for being so accommodating.
